Central Kids Helen Downer Kindergarten

We are whānau and for the tamariki.Central Kids Helen Downer opened in 1954, and was the first kindergarten in Rotorua. We were established by Mrs Helen Downer and are proudly named in her honour. We have a large outdoor playground where children can freely engage with nature, including food gardens and a worm farm.We are well resourced to enhance children’s learning further, supported by amazing teachers.We are a diverse kindergarten with many cultures. Each child and their whānau has a dedicated teacher to awhi them through the transitions – kaitiakitanga.Poipoia te kākano kia puāwai – Nurture the seed and it will blossom.
