Windmill Kids Furniture started in 2008 from Sara & Jason’s double garage located at Bishopdale, Christchurch. Sara worked as a furniture buying agent for furniture outlets in NZ before she thought of starting her own furniture business. At that time, Sara noticed a lack of kids’ furniture on the market, especially the kind that could capture the essence of childhood: imagination, fun, and play. Amazed at the vibrant, colourful and imaginative rooms in her boys’ preschool homerooms, Sara was inspired to create such a space for the bedroom of her two boys (6 and 4 years old at the time) and all other children.
